News: Suspects sought in South Austin hit-and-run that hurt scooter rider

SOUTH AUSTIN, TX – Austin police are currently on the hunt for two suspects in connection with a hit-and-run crash that injured a scooter rider last Friday, Nov. 28.

Fox7Austin said the collision happened before 6:30 p.m. on the 700th block of West William Cannon Drive. The events unfolded when a suspect driving a pickup truck with a bed cover crashed into the moped scooter rider.

The pickup driver fled the scene, and moments later, a silver sedan crashed into the moped driver. The sedan driver immediately fled the scene as well.

Austin police confirmed the car driver was a man and the pickup truck driver was a woman.

Police believe the female suspect was operating a dark-colored Chevrolet Colorado from 2015 to 2022. The truck is likely to have front-end damage.

Police have not released the victim’s identity nor specified what sort of charges the suspects could face.
