ROUND ROCK, TX – A pedestrian lost their life when they were struck by a train on the railroad tracks at McNeil Road and I-35 on Wednesday.
Round Rock police first reported the crash at 3:02 p.m. and suspect the pedestrian may have struggled with suicide ideation, which may have been a factor in this deadly collision.
Officers shut down McNeil Road starting at I-35 Frontage Road and ending at South Blair Street. As of this writing, police have not announced any reopening of lanes.
Drivers were told to anticipate delays and use alternative routes to accommodate the scene clean-up process and investigation period.
The victim’s name has not been released, and no criminal charges have been filed.
