News: Train fatally strikes vehicle occupant in Round Rock 

ROUND ROCK, TX – One vehicle passenger succumbed to fatal injuries after the automobile they were traveling in was struck by a train before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. 

Round Rock Police said this collision happened along the railroad tracks at I-35 Frontage Road and McNeil Road.

Officers have blocked off the north and southbound directions of Frontage for their investigation and for the scene clearance process. Due to these closures, travelers in the area should plan for delays and are advised to seek alternative routes if possible. 

Since the investigation is in its early stages, officers have not been able to confirm the events leading up to Wednesday’s collision. In addition, they did not specify if the person who passed away was the person behind the wheel or a front or back seat passenger, nor did they release the victim’s name.
