News: Two Leander officers hospitalized after getting hit by suspected drunk driver

LEANDER, TX – A suspected drunk driver struck two Leander Police officers Tuesday, the Austin American-Statesman reported. 

The collision occurred before 11 pm at the 17000 block of Ronald Reagan Boulevard. 

The field training officer and the officer-in-training were parked inside their car on the side of the road when the alleged drunk driver struck them. 

The drunk driver was identified as Joel Ramirez. 

Ramirez and the two officers were all hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries. 

They were all released from the hospital. Upon Ramirez’s release, he was arrested for a DWI and booked at the Williamson County Jail, where he remains.
