AUSTIN, TX – Police officially confirmed that a hit-and-run suspect was responsible for causing a crash that injured a motorcyclist in the Westover Hills area Tuesday.
According to new details from KVUE, the hit-and-run driver was operating a sedan when they struck the motorcyclist in the 3000th block of North MoPac Expressway.
Officers, transportation crews, and Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services arrived at the accident scene at 11:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers and crews shut down the northbound MoPac Expressway between Westover Road and West 35th Street for scene clearance and investigation.
All lanes have reopened since.
Officials have not released a description of the suspect or their vehicle at this time.
