SOUTH AUSTIN, TX – On Monday, Austin police confirmed that it was a 47-year-old man who was killed in a South Austin crash that happened last Monday, August 11.
Police identified the man as Samson Seablom, according to an update from KXAN. Seablom, who was a driver, collided with another vehicle at the intersection of South 1st Street and West William Cannon Drive.
The collision took place around 2:30 p.m. Upon arrival, police declared Seablom dead at the scene. The debris from the two-vehicle crash struck a nearby pedestrian.
EMS crews took the pedestrian to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Officers shut down northbound South 1st Street. During the closures, drivers were asked to seek alternative routes.
The other driver appeared to have been uninjured.
No citations were announced.
