News UPDATE: Person dies following crash on Barton Springs Rd near Zilker Park

AUSTIN, TX – Authorities confirmed that a two-vehicle wreck Thursday night near Austin’s Zilker Park resulted in the death of one person, according to KXAN.

The Austin Police Department said the incident took place in the 2800 block of Barton Springs Road. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 8:45 p.m.

As of this time, it remains unclear what led up to the crash and how the victim was connected, but a span of the roadway was blocked from William Barton Drive to Andrew Zilker Road.

By 1:40 a.m., several hours later, the scene had been cleared and all lanes were reopened to the public.
