DEL VALLE, TX – The person who was killed in a motorcycle collision on last Friday, March 13 near the AUS Airport has since been identified, KXAN reports.
Department of Public Safety identified the victim as 38-year-old David Banta, from Austin. The crash occurred on the 2200th block of South FM 973 and was reported after 5:30 p.m.
Preliminary details show that Banta crashed into the back of a car turning left from Prado Ranch Boulevard onto southbound FM 973.
Banta died from his injuries.
DPS did not say whether Banta or the driver was to blame for the crash, and has not reported any citations or charges.
An investigation is underway.
