DOWNTOWN AUSTIN, TX – Police confirmed that the suspect who was responsible for fleeing the scene after hitting two pedestrians, which led to one’s death, was driving a dark gray Mazda.
Video footage obtained by CBS Austin showed that around 1 a.m. Tuesday, the suspect hit the two pedestrians at the 7th and Red River Street intersection. The driver almost hit several other pedestrians but missed. The impact led the two pedestrians to get thrown before tumbling down.
The pedestrian who passed away was a man whose name has not been released. The other pedestrian sustained injuries and is recovering at a hospital.
Police have not yet found the suspect or the gray Mazda. But they advise anyone who has more information on either of them to contact them at the phone number listed in the source.
