News Update: Police ID victim in N MoPac Expy wreck

AUSTIN, TX – Austin Police released the name of a person who passed away in a collision on the 1200th block of North MoPac Expressway Sunday. 

Officers confirmed with CBS Austin on Tuesday that it was 43-year-old Nikolas Lauderdale, a white man, who was one of the individuals to succumb to fatal wounds. Police have not pinpointed the identity of the second man who died. 

The police department had also released new developments as well, revealing that the collision was between a pickup truck and a sports vehicle, which occurred before 5:45 a.m., but did not reveal details regarding the circumstances behind this wreck. 

In addition, officers did not confirm which vehicle Lauderdale drove. 

Authorities started an investigation and advised the public to please contact the department should they have more information about this deadly wreck.
