News UPDATE: Police IDs victim in fatal I-35 Frontage Road crash

AUSTIN, TX – Officials have confirmed the identity of the pedestrian who was killed in a fatal crash on the I-35 North Frontage Road. 

The collision happened after 2 a.m. on Sunday, April 9th. According to KVUE, Austin Police said an initial investigation indicated that the pedestrian, later identified as Jorge Luis Sanchez Villalobos, was struck by a blue Kia Forte as he was crossing the street.

The driver of the Kia Forte hit Sanchez Villalobos and another vehicle and fled the scene. 

Sanchez Villalobos succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police describe the suspect vehicle as a four-door 2016 to 2018 model with significant front-end damage.
