News Update: Round Rock PD ID SUV driver killed in crash with Amtrak train 

ROUND ROCK, TX – As of Friday, Round Rock Police have publicly identified the SUV driver who was fatally struck by an Amtrak train on Wednesday, May 15th. 

Police did not say what or how but told CBS Austin that something led the SUV driver, 76-year-old Peggy Dreher, to collide with the train. After arriving at Interstate 35 North Frontage Road and East McNeil Road, the crash scene, officers declared Dreher deceased at the site. 

The train conductor and 46 passengers on board were spared from injuries. 

The specifics of Wednesday’s collision are under an investigation period. Additional information has not been released to the public at this time.
