News: Urgent crash reported on E MLK Jr. near Chestnut Ave

AUSTIN, TX – Emergency teams responded to an urgent crash early Wednesday in east-central Austin, just east of campus and the interstate.

Austin Police were called to the 2200 block of East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near Chestnut Avenue just prior to 4 a.m. This is near Lee Lewis Campbell Elementary School and north of Rosewood Neighborhood Park.

Officials haven’t yet reported on the cause of the accident or the number of vehicles involved, nor have they specified if anyone involved in the collision required hospitalization.

The accident likely caused delays along East MLK Jr. Boulevard in the east campus area while emergency teams assessed the victims and crews worked to clear the scene.
