News: Woman fatally struck by CapMetro Rail train in Leander 

LEANDER, TX – A woman was crossing a railroad bridge between the 400 to 500 block of U.S. 183 Highway when she was hit by a Capital Metro commuter train, resulting in her death. 

Leander Police confirmed this collision happened around noon on Saturday at between train markers 85 and 86. The pedestrian, who was said to have been a caucasian woman, succumbed to fatal wounds at the scene. Her age and identity have not been released at this time.

The conductor and engineer, the sole occupants on the train, appeared to have been unharmed.
